Result Entry Systems

League Master provides a number of different ways to record fixture and match results, and although covered in more detail elsewhere, this is a quick resume of the result entry systems available.

They have been listed from the simplest entry system to the most complete, and under normal circumstances, the Full Score Entry system at the end is the one that most people will use.

Simple

This is the most basic method and requires you to add all the data manually, including the Home Team and Away Team points. In fact, you don’t have to enter anything apart from the points at the top and what you do enter is freehand.

Player Selection

This now introduces the concept of Players. Players must first be added to the Players List for each club, after which they will appear in drop-down selection lists when entering the results.

While this now allows players to have "profiles" that show their results, win/loss ratios etc., all the other data must still be entered manually.

However, it can be linked to a Ranking System, in which case all players can have their ranking shown against their name.

Nominations

This now introduces the concept of Nominations which are shown against each player. This is the most common way of running leagues, where players are listed in ability order and are generally required to play in this order, although League Master can handle a number of different ways of handling this.

Full Score Entry

This is now nearly the usual way that League Master is used. Each individual game score must be added, which allows the system to check that scores are valid. There are also a number of overrides, to allow for walkovers and infringements but you must still enter the actual team points manually.

Auto Points

Finally we have the Full Score Entry with Auto Points system which is the default results entry configuration in League Master. The scores entered for each game are used to calculate the points based upon a set of rules created for the league. and unless all players and scores are added, the system will not calculate the points so the fixture is not deemed entered. In addition, it also allows count-backs to be done where there are an even number of strings in a match.

The configuration options allow each division to have entirely different settings, if necessary, and cover:

  • Scoring systems
  • Number of players per fixture
  • Games played for each string
  • Number of doubles
  • Points basis
  • Bonuses for winning
  • Handicap points
  • Penalties
